SOFT LANDINGS FOR HANDOVER & OPERATIONS
For the last 20 years, IFS have been supporting our blue-chip customers with their digital transformation processes. During this time, we have conducted many objective reviews of the various design and construction processes. We have also analysed their underlying and frequently overlapping performance specifications as outlined in preliminary tender / bid and supply chain procurement documentation.
Would your organisation benefit from an independent review of your current Digital Strategy for digital building information and asset lifecycle management? This strategic review encompasses all relevant specifications and may include Employers / Asset Information Requirements (EIR/AIR) and BIM Execution Plans. This enables alignment with your operational readiness and soft landing strategies for efficient handover to Facilities Management.
We also appraise all associated information management and process workflows including review and approval cycles between the various stakeholders, from Project Planning to Operations. During our review process, we identify opportunities for alignment and process improvement. This is supported by data simulation activities and allows us to propose information workflow efficiencies. We also propose practical communications strategies between all stakeholders. This ensures real productivity gains are attainable throughout the information production and delivery process and operational lifecycle.
On completion of this independent review, we will have assisted your organisation in setting a new benchmark for the specification and delivery of your information across your Asset Planning, Procurement and Operational supply chain.
Please contact us for more information or to arrange a Digital Transition Strategy consultation.
In our experience, software applications and processes supporting digital building information and asset lifecycle management, while being critical sources of information, are mostly unconnected or ineffectively aligned. This includes Project Collaboration, Document Management, Building Information Modelling, Commissioning & Certification, Operation & Maintenance Manuals and Facilities Management information.

01
Planning
During the planning phase our clients address their Asset Information Requirements through the adoption of our detailed performance specifications, these specifications address the technical requirements of the information including the formats and structure as well as the software and services to support the successful co-ordination, delivery and support of their building information for the Asset Lifecycle.
02
Design
At design stage, we complete our Project Information Management protocols review with the project team and approve the information requirements in a structured project index. We also ensure that the communications protocols for Requests for Information – RFI’s, Technical submittals and compliance reports are configured and approved by all stakeholders.
03
Construction
As Construction commences on-site we support the on-boarding of Contractors within our cloud-based applications by verifying the project information management index and information submittals workflows. The commencement of our digital co-ordination for Handover informs your Contractor, Sub-Contractors, Vendors and Supply Chain setting out the Asset Information and BIM Model requirements and submittals programme.
04
Handover & Close-out
As Construction progresses to Handover & Close-out our Digital Coordinator acts as a single point of contact for your engineering teams and ensures a seamless transition of the Asset information from construction to the Owner / Operators FM & Operations team. We target 90% + approvals of all project Handover and Close-out information at project completion.
05
Operations
As the building moves into the Operational stage our Digital Coordinator continues to report progress of the Asset Information until all information requirements are closed. Early access to approved content on the system allows the FM and Operations team gain familiarisation with building and systems ahead of handover. Post-Handover we support information updates through our Change Control Procedures, this ensures site based FM & Operations teams always have access to the latest information.
06
Maintenance
The approved Asset Information on the application provides a solid foundation for the set-up of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes and Statutory Maintenance inspections required for sites, buildings and systems. These tasks are assigned workflows on the system ensuring field based activities are scheduled and recorded when complete.
